The circle of life

Today I was chatting to a producer pal.

“Do you remember when you gave birth?” he asked.

“Of course I do!” I said. “One of the best days of my life…so many memories…such emotion…”

“I’m not talking about actual birth, you stupid cow. I’m talking about when you gave birth on a radio commercial.”

I love it when he talks dirty to me.

“Ah that,” I mused.

“And then there’s the back to school ads. The wedding fayre ads…”

“…the funeral home commercials,” I said.

“Yes,” he said. “Listening to you always makes me think about death.”

(I think he was joking).

But he did create this amazing piece of audio for me, encapsulating the human journey, depicted through the compelling medium of radio commercials. Give it a listen. And try not to think about anything morbid.
