Have a listen to my new general showreel

It’s always tricky doing a showreel.

You need to show what you can do, but you don’t want to overface your audience, bore them, become self-indulgent or try to demonstrate the full, comprehensive spectrum of what you can do – all in under two minutes.

I tested out various opinions from a few producer mates before I made this one and the feedback differed a lot. Some people wanted to hear more than two mins’ worth of stuff. Some only a minute. Some wanted a smattering of character stuff. Some didn’t want any. Some said corporate stuff shouldn’t be included. Some did. So this latest reel tries to show a wide range of ‘straight read’ audio with the merest tinge of character stuff. (A new character reel will follow soon!)

Showreels aren’t wallpaper pattern books, and a showreel doesn’t define the limits of a voiceover’s ability or range. Or indeed, their list of clients… So take a listen and let me know what you think! I really hope you like it.

“Can you break physics and make this commercial read to time, please? Thanks!”
